Mr. Catena received his professional training in Pesaro, Italy, at the school of Dental Technology in 1979. He has been a practicing C.D.T. for over 25 years.

In 1984 he and his brother opened their own laboratory, Vitadent, in Ancona, Italy where they specialized in ceramics and aesthetics. Receiving vast training in Italy and throughout Europe, he began studying under the Italian master ceramist Paolo Palmia in 1987.

In 1991 Mr. Catena decided to move to the United States to become a ceramist at the internationally known dental offices of Goldstein, Goldstein & Garber in Atlanta, Georgia. Here Mr. Catena perfected his knowledge in cosmetic dentistry, while collaborating with Pinhas Adar. In 1992, Mr. Catena also began studying with Master Ceramist Claude Sieber in Switzerland.

In 1996 he opened Ceramic Art, his own dental laboratory; pursuing the ultimate in all phases of esthetic dentistry. Mr. Catena also utilizes his talents helping to further dental laboratory research and to develop new laboratory products. Mr. Catena is an active member in Art & Experience (by Claude Sieber), an international group of world-renowned ceramists.

He has been published in the United States, Japan, Italy, Germany. Mr. Catena is also an active instructor; teaching hands on classes throughout the United States. His life-like restorations are seen in many porcelain advertisements.

His interests outside of dentistry include tennis, cooking, boating, and most importantly his wife Jennifer, his two beautiful young girls, Alexandra and Alison and his son, Matteo.
